Symbolic jewelry represents or signifies a special occasion, accomplishment, celebration to honour someone, achievement, awareness of a cause or stand.

Religious medallions, Diploma's Numbers, Sayings, Keys are examples of symbolic pieces of jewelry.

Many are engraved with special and personal inscriptions, including the date to commemorate the occasion.

One of my dearest and most cherished pieces is my first tooth that is encased in a gold setting and is worn as a charm on my bracelet.

Jewelry can have an expression or meaning to the wearer that is unique to the individual.

As an example, the key can symbolize the key to one's heart, the key of life, hard work is the key of success and so on. As well, a key can represent new beginnings as you open the door to new opportunities.

When a person wears a symbolic piece, it is a part of who they are--it can be a collage of their life. They are conversation pieces, especially if the symbol is unique. A story begins to unfold as you relive experiences and share your stories with people.

Good memories, shared memories--a reflection of your past, present, future--eternal in your heart.

Unique Ideas for Personalizing Jewelry

You may own a piece of jewelry with only your name, initials or medical information engraved on it. There are other unique things that you can engrave when giving someone a very special piece of jewelery. When giving such a gift to someone, it shows that a great deal of thought went into it.

When a couple gets married, many have the date of their marriage engraved on the inside of their wedding bands. For couples that are not married, you can still present your loved one with a piece of jewelry that has engraved the date you met, your first year anniversary, when you got engaged or any other milestone in your relationship.

Besides dates and initials, you can also engrave a favorite expression, quote, word, number or symbol. If you and someone special share a loving phrase and it is too long, why not take the first letter of each word and have it engraved on a treasured piece of jewelry.

One of our customers recently had the inscription "You Are The Love of My Life" engraved inside a bracelet for his girlfriend and had it shortened to U.R.T (heart symbol) O.M.L.

For couples getting married, you might consider engraving a religious verse inside your wedding band.

You can also engrave a nickname, especially if it is an endearing one.

For mother's, you can give individual charms, or circular discs, or hearts with the names of each child on it. There are also link bracelets available that have large links on which names or expressions can be engraved on each one.

If you want to keep the message private, you can have the jewelry item engraved on the inside. For example if you are giving someone a bangle bracelet, there is adequate room to inscribe the inside of the bracelet.

What symbols would represent a union of thetwo words POSITIVITY EQUALS PROSPERITY?

There is a symbol in the world that reaches all cultures. Its meaning is universal, it knows no boundaries and it brings people together—the heart. The heart, as we all know, represents love. It also signifies compassion, graciousness, kindness, joy and is the core of our emotions. There are also expressions of the heart that we use when we want to amplify an endearment about or referring to someone—“giving heart”, “heart of gold”, “good hearted”, “good hearted laugh”.

The framework of my design was definitely centered on the heart, yet I wanted to incorporate within the heart something that reflected change—a new beginning. It had to be something that was naturally occurring and flowed harmoniously—it had to be the perfect balance, but most importantly, it had to be representative of nature.
